How the Kira Engine Works
Kira Maths is built on an adaptive learning engine that combines three models to personalise every question. Bayesian Knowledge Tracing estimates the probability your child currently knows each KSSR skill. An Elo rating system measures student ability against question difficulty. And a spaced repetition scheduler determines when each skill should be reviewed to maximise long-term retention.
On every question, a 10-signal ranking algorithm evaluates all eligible skills simultaneously: weighing weakness priority, optimal difficulty zone, spaced repetition urgency, Thompson Sampling exploration, session diversity, and prerequisite readiness. It then selects the single highest-value question. The engine targets a 60–75% predicted success rate: hard enough to learn, easy enough not to quit.
The result is a system that adapts in real time, not after a test. Every answer updates the student's knowledge model within milliseconds. Weak skills surface automatically. Mastered skills space out. No two students get the same sequence. KSSR-aligned across all topics for Year 1 to Year 6, free to start, and runs entirely in the browser.
